D.V. Buyers BEWARE of other D. V. Appraisers

When seeking out a diminished value company/appraiser you need to be careful of that appraisal company and their appraiser. Online appraisal companies cannot see the repairs made to your damage-repaired vehicle; they can only assume the repairs were made properly.

Other appraisal companies and their appraisers work mostly for insurance companies and follow those particular insurance companies’ guidelines in determining the diminished value to your vehicle.

The appraiser will be there generally no more than fifteen minutes — if that long — inspecting the repairs made to your vehicle. The appraiser may take some pictures of your vehicle and then leave. The appraiser may also make some comments about some minor flaws in the repairs, but never anything critical — they never do and never will.

Many vehicles that were inspected by CSI-NC for inspection, after other so-called DV Appraisers were in need of more repairs, were actually found unsafe to drive and/or were actually vehicles that were total loss repaired vehicles.

CSI-NC has documentation to support the above statement.

CSI-NC has also been retained by Caudle & Spears, P.A., Charlotte, N.C., a firm that represents N.C. & S.C. Farm Bureau and Universal Insurance Company. Others are an employee of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, Charlotte, N.C., along with two employees of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice in Winston-Salem, N.C.

These firms and employees must have seen the value of what CSI-NC offers in the inspection of the repairs and diminished value assessments. The employee of the Nelson Mullins group vehicle was of quality repairs, yet the two vehicles of the Womble Carlyle group were in need of re-repairing.

Rest assured, the appraiser for the insurance company will not do a thorough inspection of the repairs made to your vehicle, and the online appraiser is assuming quality repairs. You may be like many other vehicle owners that received a CSI-NC inspection of the repairs, having found out that you were unknowingly riding in a “death trap.”
