Welcome to the Un-Safe Repairs section of the CSI-NC website. You are about to see un-safe repairs made to vehicles by body shops across North Carolina, while performing an inspection of the vehicle for its Diminished Value or a Post Repair Inspection that was requested by the vehicle owner. I will be stating the "Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth, so help me God."

When choosing an auto body shop for repairs, choose wisely, so that you will not be a victim of un-safe repairs.

Auto Insurers damage appraisals or the body shop repair estimae may or may not be shown in complete form. What will be shown in complete form will be the front page as proof of the vehicle, the name of the auto body shop that performed the repairs. In addition, a section of the repair estimate which states the repairs to be performed will be shown.

All personal information as to claimant's names, home address, phone numbers, vehicle information as tag and VIN will be partially blacked out, along with claim numbers.

The names of any insurance adjuster and auto body shop estimator are blacked out.

It will be stated whether the auto body shop is recommended repair shop for the auto insurer.

It will be stated if the vehicle was re-repaired by the body shop, another body shop, deemed a total loss by the auto insurer or purchased back by the auto body shop.

It is the intention of CSI-NC and its owner to educate the vehicle owner, auto insurers and the body shops that repairing structural damage must be back to its original shape and form for crash worthiness.

It is the intention of CSI-NC and its owner to educate the vehicle owner, auto insurers and the body shops when repairing or replacing structural panels and body panels are to be performed according to the vehicle manufacturer's guidelines.

It is not the intention of CSI-NC and its owner to see any auto body shop and its personnel face prosecution in a court of law.

CSI-NC and its owner are diligently adding many more un-safe repairs as time allows.
